Refurbishment of a 430 sq.m penthouse flat on the top two floors of a 1960s residential block in Victoria, including construction of new a glazed rooftop studio. Appointed following a limited competition.

This two storey penthouse flat was purchased as a one bedroom property in need of complete refurbishment and updating. The whole apartment was completely stripped out to its concrete shell whilst the extensive necessary permissions were acquired to construct a glazed studio and terrace on the previously unoccupied rooftop. New stairs were installed to draw the eye up to this dramatic addition, and new partitioning installed to create a four bedroom family home with generous living areas. All the joinery was purpose designed. Furniture by owners. The project was completed on time and within budget.
